Women’s Bike Workshop Series

Session One (TBD) Getting Started

  • Benefits of riding a bike

  • Which bike to choose

  • Required equipment

  • Rules of the road

  • Safety considerations

  • Where to ride

  • Resources for new riders


Session Two (4/19/20 at 1 PM) Building your Confidence and Skills

  • Basics of bike handling skills: braking, shifting, turning/cornering, climbing, descending, cadence and pedal stroke

  • Group ride etiquette

  • Local group ride opportunities

  • Local charity rides


Session Three (5/3/20 at 1 PM) Basic Bike Maintenance and Roadside Repair

  • Maintenance schedule: every ride, monthly

  • Selecting and checking tire pressure

  • Removing a wheel

  • Chain care

  • Fixing a flat


Workshop is free to attend. Provided by Cape Cod Bike Fit owner, Dr. Stephanie Soares. Stephanie is a physical therapist, certified bike fitter and USA Cycling certified coach who is passionate about empowering women through cycling.
